Lake Orta, a real Italian way of life

When at long last you have decided to treat yourself to a beautiful and well-deserved holiday, a lot of images immediately flash though your mind: perhaps images of a Latin country, a corner of the Mediterranean sea where you can spend a week far away from mails you'd prefer not to answer and meetings that you don’t want to take part in.

Italy is full of fantastic landscapes: from Portofino to Capri, from Tuscany to Sicily, Italy is a mass of idyllic places, where the quality of life, food and people are unique in the world.

Many of these towns are famous and well-known worldwide, but wonderful sceneries often hide places overrun whit tourists. Such places have often lost their original local spirit and such shops, pizzerias and ice cream parlors are developed with tourism in mind.

If you have not chosen a crowded beach for your holiday and if you want to stay away from the traffic of the city for a while, then Lake Orta could be your ideal destination.

The pre-alpine lakes (Lake Maggiore, Lake Como, Lake Orta etc.) are a cross-section of true typical Italian lifestyle and among them Lake Orta is the most romantic and charming lake in the world.

Here, on the shores of our lake there are no water-parks, multiple-screen cinemas, bowling and mega-discos, but rather you will come across taverns and wine bars where you can spend unforgettable evenings, sitting at a table outdoors in company with a plate of local delicacies and a glass of red wine.

"Unfortunately " on Lake Orta there is not even a big commercial center with stores and hypermarkets; for your shopping you have to take to the streets and the squares where you can still find small shops and street markets, where locals encounter each other even only for a chat.
