Or maybe yes ... Because there is absolutely nothing wrong with looking for itineraries and panoramas capable of transforming the dust of everyday life into a golden mist.

But do true romantics still exist? The incurable dreamers, passionate and sentimental, able to be moved by a sunset or to be transported by a sweet experience?
I truly believe that a pinch of romanticism is hidden in each of us and emerges when a suggestive environment reminds us that we are capable of deep emotions and gallant gestures. Taking a walk in the Valentino park in Turin, for example, can only arouse languid thoughts in an enchanting atmosphere.
This large park is undoubtedly one of the most popular places in the city, located along the banks of the Po, it forms a large green area that hosts tree-lined avenues, manicured gardens, streams and fountains, along with specimens of exotic flowers and friendly, very sociable squirrels.

Reading a book sheltered by the foliage of some centuries-old plant or setting up a surprise picnic for our sweetheart or, again, visiting the Medieval Village and the Rocky Garden, are just some of the activities that can be undertaken in what represents the true green lung of the city. But today it is a particular bench that attracts my attention, that known as the "street lamps in love", an installation created by the master gardener Rodolfo Marasciuolo that celebrates romantic love: two street lamps sitting close together, in the company of a stretching cat, manage to totally convey the delicate complicity of two tender lovers.

For those who love “stolen-kiss” sunsets, also in Turin, I recommend the wonderful panorama that can be enjoyed from the square of the Basilica of Superga or the splendid view of the city that can be admired from Monte dei Cappuccini, a magical and decidedly sentimental place.

Another highly romantic destination is Recetto di Candelo, a small and intimate village in the province of Biella, a place with a fairytale charm, almost suspended in time. The narrow streets with rounded cobblestones, the walls with crenellated towers and the prince's palace take us back to the distant Middle Ages, when the recetto was built by the rural population as a fortified shelter to preserve and defend the most precious assets of the community. Strolling in the so-called "rue" is such a romantic experience that many young spouses come right here to take some of the photographs to be included in their precious wedding album.

I conclude my advice for "passionate hearts" by recalling, of course, the suggestive views that our Lake Orta can offer, such as the view of the island from the garden of Villa Bossi or from the churchyard of the Sacro Monte, where the German philosopher Nietzche received a tender kiss from the young Maria Salomè, in an afternoon of true bliss.

If you are in love, there is nothing better than a boat ride, a walk hand in hand around the promontory of Orta, a candlelit dinner, perhaps right here at the La Darbia restaurant... A gallant gesture, an intense look, a particular light, there are many shades of romanticism. Just train yourself to know how to grasp them.
